Gegenstand der vorliegenden Diplomarbeit ist der US-amerikanische Klassiker On the Road von Jack Kerouac und seine zwei slowenischen Übersetzungen, die 1967 bzw. 1998 publiziert wurden. Das Original wurde 1957 veröffentlicht und gilt als das wichtigste Buch der Beatbewegung, der US-amerikanischen gegenkulturellen, literarischen Strömung in den 1960er Jahren. Das Hauptaugenmerk der Arbeit wird auf die Übertragung der sprachlichen und kulturellen Spezifika in beiden Übersetzungen gelegt.
